Mitchell Subaru Celebrates Wishes from the Rooftop - Kris M
We are so thrilled that Mitchell Subaru chose Make-A-Wish® Connecticut as their charity partner for this year’s Subaru Share the Love® Event. Their dedication to our mission means the world to us, and we look forward to working side by side for many years to come to bring hope, strength, and joy to local children and families. Mitchell Subaru has shown an incredible commitment to making wishes come true for children right here in our community—children like Anthony, who inspire us every day with their courage and resilience. Anthony is a thoughtful and creative 12-year-old, living with a blood disorder. Despite the challenges he faces, he finds joy in simple things like playing board games, hanging out with his friends, and dreaming about the future—especially his dream of becoming an animator one day. When it came time to choose his wish, Anthony knew exactly what he wanted: to celebrate his birthday in Hawaii with the people he loves most. His wish gave him the chance to step away from medical appointments and treatments and experience the carefree adventure every child deserves. But the magic didn’t stop when he returned home—Mitchell Subaru made sure of that. When Anthony and his mom arrived at the dealership, they were greeted with an unforgettable Hawaiian welcome. The entire team donned colorful leis, the showroom was decorated with palm trees and tropical touches, and they had all of Anthony’s favorite snacks ready—Skinny Pop, Golden Oreos, and Jersey Mike’s subs. Everyone came together to make him feel special, cheered him on, and showered him with love and support. Anthony and his mom were deeply touched by the genuine care and kindness shown by the Mitchell Subaru family. For them, this warm welcome was more than just a party—it was a reminder that their community stands with them and believes in brighter days ahead. But the impact of Mitchell Subaru reaches far beyond one day of celebration. Through their generous participation in the Subaru Share the Love Event, they brought the community together and made a meaningful contribution to Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Their support helps ensure that more children like Anthony can dream big and experience the power of a wish—turning moments of fear into moments of hope and lifelong memories. We are truly grateful for Mitchell Subaru’s unwavering partnership and the difference they make for local children and families who need it most. Together, we are creating joy, one wish at a time.
Mitchell Subaru Shares Warmth and Hope with Local Cancer Patients - Paige C
In partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Mitchell Subaru delivered 80 blankets and 30 thoughtfully packed patient care kits to support cancer patients through their journeys. Each blanket and kit were more than just a gift. It was a gesture of compassion, paired with a handwritten message of hope to remind patients they are not alone. The care kits included comforting and practical items to support patients during treatment, while the blankets offered warmth and a sense of being surrounded by community. The Mitchell Subaru efforts reflect the heart of the Subaru Loves to Care mission: bringing light, love, and human connection to those who need it most.
Mitchell Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Nate R
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Canton, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Mitchell Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Mitchell Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/23/2025, Mitchell Subaru donated 120 coats to United Way of West Central Connecticut. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
Mitchell Subaru & Simsbury A Better Chance team up for Arbor day - Kirti P
This past weekend, our scholars volunteered at Mitchell Subaru to help distribute free saplings tree to community members as part of Subaru's Love the Earth initiative. It was wonderful for our Scholars to meet many community members who stopped by to pick up their free regionally appropriate sapling tree. Special thanks to Mitchell Subaru and the Arbor Day Foundation for providing 100,000 trees nationwide this year and including our ABC scholars in this important environmental initiative! We're proud of our students for volunterring! ABC has been the preeminent resource for identifying, recruiting, educating and developing leaders from the nation's underserved communities. A Better Chance serves as a national network for deserving students and places them in one of 180 boarding and day schools across the country or one of the 16 Community School Programs (CSPs).
Mitchell Subaru Pet Adoption - Wendy D
Mitchell Subaru along with Dog Star Rescue hosted their third pet adoption of the year. Mitchell Subaru has continued to support Dog Star Rescue and their efforts to find qualified, caring lifelong homes for this dogs. Along with Dog Star Rescue, The Doggy Wish participated in the event by paying the adoption fee for the first dog adopted at the event. Mitchell Subaru turned over their facility for the event ands once again the turnout was exceptional with over 10 dogs finding their forever homes. Mitchell Subaru is commited to the safety and welfare of all pets and will continue to work with their partners to ensure every abandoned pet get a second chance.
Mitchell Subaru Loves Cherry Brook Primary School in Canton CT - Joe F
Mitchell Subaru believes that all students deserve an equal opportunity for a quality education. That’s why we are partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org to make a difference in the lives of students at Cherry Brook Primary School in Canton this year.Millions of students in high-needs schools across the country, including right here in our local community, lack the supplies and learning materials necessary to be successful in the classroom. In fact, 92% of teachers in the United States have students whose families cannot afford school supplies, often requiring teachers to purchase resources using their own money. Mitchell Subaru is supporting high-needs schools in our community through Subaru Loves Learning by adopting classrooms at Cherry Brook Primary School and providing its teachers with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are most needed to help their students thrive in the classroom. Subaru is the largest corporate donor to AdoptAClassroom.org. Thanks to this partnership, Subaru and its retailers like us have provided support to over 750,000 students across the nation and 600 students in Canton, CT.
Mitchell Subaru Ct Cleanup Day - Annalisa P
Mitchell Subaru led the way in our annual river cleanup day in Canton. Over 16 volunteers spent a good protion of the day cleaning up waste along the Farmington River as well as cleaning up the nearby commuter lot. Save the Sound is committed to justice in environmental action, and our team is constantly looking for ways to ensure both our internal operations and our programming support a diverse and equitable world.
Mitchell Subaru Hosts Pet Adoption with Dog Star Resuce - Wendy D
The Mission of Dog Star Rescue is to guide stray, abandoned, shelter, and owner-surrender dogs of all breeds and ages to qualified, caring, lifelong homes. Rescue as many dogs as possible, of all ages and breed mixes, with the volunteer and financial resources we have available Match qualified applicants with adoptable dogs, and educate adopters about the responsibility of providing a lifelong home to a rescue dog. Mitchell Subaru opened it's Certifed Pre Owned Facility to host a pet adoption for these wonderful pets. Every dog that was adoptied Mitchell Subaru donated $25 gift card to Amazon and Chew.
Mitchell Subaru Partners With The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Daniela V
Every three minutes, a person in the U.S is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma - blood cancers that often requires patients to endure difficult treatments that leave them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to provide warmth, love, and relief by delivering over 230,000 blankets along with patient care kits and encouraging messages of hope. Mitchell Subaru delivered 80 blankets and 30 patient care kits to Connecticut Children’s. We are proud to continue this partnership and look forward to many years to come. Dog Star & Mitchell Subaru Host Pet Adoption - Wendy D
Once again the folks at Mitchell Subaru Hosted a pet adoption with Dog Star rescue. The Mission of Dog Star Rescue is to guide stray, abandoned, shelter, and owner-surrender dogs of all breeds and ages to qualified, caring, lifelong homes. During the year Mitchell Subaru host several of these events to raise awareness and to provide forever homes for these wonderful pets. The incredible turnout saw over 100 people visit during the event.
